Position: Accounts Payable Manager

Reporting to: Group Financial Controller

About the role
  • Managing, overseeing and training / developing the Accounts Payable Team.
  • Overseeing month‑end AP close to ensure deadlines are hit.
  • Working with the business to ensure all invoices have a Purchase Order.
  • Working with Management Accounts Team re: month‑end queries.
  • Liaising with Legal Team regarding supplier disputes and CCJs.
  • Overseeing the weekly and ad hoc payment runs.
  • Working with consultants to improve AP / PO systems including automation.
  • AP processing where required (eg holiday cover, busy periods etc).
  • The role would suit an experienced Accounts Payable professional with ambition and drive who is looking to further their career.
What we’re looking for
  • Ability to supervise and manage AP Team – strong team management skills are critical, including experience coaching and training junior team members.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience with Purchase Orders and No PO No Pay.
  • Strong IT skills are critical (including Excel – we love Excel in finance!) and including experience with ERP / accounting systems – preferably Oracle NetSuite.
  • Experience with AP automation would be advantageous – preferably Yooz.
  • Procurement / sourcing experience beneficial.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines – good time management skills are essential.
  • Person who displays the right attitude coupled with the energy to execute.
  • Ability to work independently, and as part of a wider team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication – able to communicate confidently with senior finance leaders.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment where priorities can change quickly.
