Qualifications

• Previous experience in an Accounts Manager or Senior Accounts role.
• AAT qualified or part/fully qualified ACCA/ACA (desirable).
• Strong understanding of UK accounting principles and legislation.
• Confident in producing financial reports and interpreting data.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Strong IT skills, including accounting software and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with a commitment to maintaining high standards.

Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the accounts department.
• Preparing monthly management accounts, financial statements, and performance reports.
• Completing month-end and year-end processes.
• Managing cashflow, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Overseeing VAT returns, payroll, and general bookkeeping.
• Monitoring financial controls and ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards.
• Supporting audits and liaising with external accountants as required.
• Reviewing processes and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Supervising, supporting, and developing junior finance staff.
• Communicating effectively with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
