Job summary

Cardiff Council is seeking an Accommodation Officer to source and secure accommodation for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. You will assess needs, risks and suitability of options, coordinating with providers and partner agencies to place individuals in safe, appropriate accommodation.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with vulnerable individuals, ideally within housing, homelessness, domestic abuse, safeguarding, or support services.
• The ability to assess needs, risks, and accommodation suitability in a sensitive and professional manner.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills to manage a busy caseload.

Responsibilities

• Assess housing needs, risks and support requirements to identify suitable accommodation options.
• Coordinate placements with accommodation providers and referral partners; monitor progress.
• Help ensure accommodation resources are used effectively to meet demand and maintain safety and wellbeing for service users.
