Job summary

Babcock – Chatham, Kent is seeking a 2nd Line Desktop Support Engineer to provide robust IT support across a diverse estate. You’ll troubleshoot, configure and maintain end-user devices while helping colleagues stay productive and secure.

Join a Corporate Services IT team that values problem-solving, collaboration and proactive maintenance. You’ll work on modern workplace technologies, Microsoft services and end-user computing within a national security environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Technical Support or 2nd Line Support.
• Strong troubleshooting across Microsoft technologies.
• Experience with Windows 10/11 desktop environments.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 apps and services; knowledge of Entra ID and endpoint management.
• Experience with hardware deployment and device builds.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd line technical support across desktops, laptops and end-user technologies.
• Investigate and resolve hardware, software, networking and user access issues.
• Support Microsoft 365 applications and services, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint.
• Install, configure and maintain devices including laptops, desktops, printers and mobile devices.
• Maintain accurate documentation, asset records and technical knowledge articles.
