A local support service in Salford is seeking two Personal Assistants to support a young man in building confidence and accessing the community. The role involves ensuring safety during outings and encouraging independence through practical life skill activities. Experience with children or young adults with special needs is desirable. This part-time position offers flexible hours at an hourly rate of £12.60.
Two PAs required to work side by side. To help increase a young man’s confidence and work around his difficulties so he can access the community successfully and build up his life skills.
A 17 year old young man who does not like noisy or busy places and so needs to go out to venues that meet his specific needs. He is currently spending his time between school and home and his world is becoming very small. It is hoped that the individual will be able to access the community with the PA, he is anxious in the community and could become dysregulated. With time it is hoped that the individual will be able to go in cafe's, shops, the library, swimming pool, parks, access activities and groups so he can develop practical and social skills such as choosing an item in the shop and paying for this, getting on a bus, taking some exercise. This will prepare him for his adult life.
