Job summary

Pitmaston Primary School in Worcester is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Higher Level Needs Assistant to support one pupil with additional needs in upper KS2. You will work under the guidance of the class teacher and external agencies to deliver personalised learning experiences.

The role requires prior SEND experience, knowledge of the primary curriculum, and strong communication. A calm, patient, and proactive approach is essential to help the child access rich learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with additional needs in a primary school.
• Understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Good communication with GCSE English and Maths at grade C or equivalent.
• Computer literacy to support personalised learning.
• Willingness to assist the class teacher and be part of the whole-school team.
• Calm, patient and proactive approach to supporting the child.

Responsibilities

• Support a child with learning experiences and meet individual needs.
• Deliver focused provision to enhance progress under guidance from staff/external agencies.
• Support the child to meet personal targets on the provision map.
• Personalise resources to be accessible to the child.
• Ensure clear learning outcomes and how they are achieved.
• Help child access a range of learning opportunities.
• Foster routines and expectations within the class.
• Build a strong relationship with the child to enhance self-esteem and social skills.
