Job summary

St Thomas' Catholic Primary School is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to provide personalised support to a pupil, helping engagement with the curriculum in a nurturing environment.

Role is 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term-time only plus INSET days. The post involves collaborating with the teacher to deliver targeted interventions and monitor progress, with potential for professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting a pupil with SEND in a similar setting is desirable.
• Ability to adapt teaching materials to a pupil's needs and strengths.
• Willingness to work closely with teachers, SENDCo and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support for a pupil during lessons and activities.
• Foster social-emotional development, independence and confidence.
• Monitor progress and share feedback with the teacher and SENDCo.
• Support during breaks, lunchtimes and off-site activities as needed.
• Assist with preparing resources and adapting activities for the pupil.
