Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Wolverhampton is recruiting for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Primary) to support a pupil with additional needs at a WV10 partner school. The role focuses on providing tailored assistance to enable learning and participation in class and beyond.

You will work under the supervision of the class teacher and SENCo, help promote positive behaviour and wellbeing, and build a trusting relationship with the pupil.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in a primary setting is essential.
• Experience supporting students with additional needs is essential.
• Patient, caring and resilient with the ability to adapt to different school environments.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Provide individual support to a pupil with additional needs inside and outside the classroom.
• Implement strategies set by the class teacher and SENCo.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and emotional wellbeing.
• Build a strong, supportive relationship with the pupil.
• Support learning across various subjects and activities.
