Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a dedicated 1:1 Autism Support Teaching Assistant for a welcoming primary school in Salford to start in September. You will provide one-to-one support to a pupil with ASC, helping them access learning, develop social and communication skills, and thrive emotionally within the school environment.

The role involves working closely with the class teacher and SENCo, implementing tailored strategies, and monitoring progress to support individual targets.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in educational or care settings is preferred.
• Patience and a calm approach to managing challenges are essential.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with ASC.
• Build positive relationships to promote engagement in learning.
• Support access to classroom activities and adapt tasks as needed.
• Implement tailored strategies for the pupil’s needs.
• Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals.
