Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a 1:1 Autism Support Teaching Assistant in Wythenshawe for a full-time role starting November 2026. You will work closely with a pupil with autism to help access learning and build confidence within a nurturing school environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience with ASC, GCSEs in English and Maths, and a compassionate, patient approach. The role offers term-time hours with competitive weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with autism or additional learning needs.
• Patience, empathy and nurturing approach.
• GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with ASC.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Support development of communication, social interaction and regulation skills.
• Follow strategies from SENCo and external professionals.
• Encourage independence and active classroom participation.
• Support pupil with transitions and sensory needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff and external agencies.
