Job summary

Teaching Personnel, in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Blackpool, is recruiting a KS1 Autism Support Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with ASC.

This full-time role is for the remainder of the academic year, with potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate. You will support learning, communication, and emotional regulation throughout the school day, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school, nursery, care, or support setting.
• Knowledge or experience of supporting children with Autism is desirable.
• Patient, resilient, and able to build positive relationships.
• A caring and adaptable approach to supporting individual needs.
• Passionate about helping children reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with Autism (ASC).
• Support learning, communication, and emotional regulation throughout the school day.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement in lessons.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff.
• Help create a calm, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
