As Risk Director at Qonto, you will play a pivotal role in our transformation from a payment institution to a fully licensed bank. You'll be instrumental in further enhancing and deploying our risk framework to support our growing financial operations.

Reporting to our Chief Risk & Compliance Officer, you'll lead a dedicated team of 15+ risk managers and quantitative risk experts, responsible for the identification, measurement, reporting, and steering of all risks (financial, operational, non-compliance risks), as well as designing and implementing credit, IR, and liquidity risk models and developing the full suite of in-house tooling used by the Risk & Compliance function.

As our Risk Director, your responsibilities will include:

1. Strategic Risk Leadership: Drive the development and implementation of 360° risk management frameworks focusing on financial risk (Credit and ALM) as we transition to a banking license, and operational risk by enhancing fraud prevention, incident management, and third-party risk strategies.
2. Financial Asset Oversight: Lead the risk strategy for managing billions in financial assets, ensuring compliance with risk policies while enabling sustainable growth.
3. Credit Framework Development: Build and oversee credit risk management systems and policies for our banking license.
4. Operational Risk Management: Design and implement proactive operational risk strategies, including fraud & scam detection.
5. Product Risk Support: Collaborate with product teams to ensure risk assessments for new products are thorough and compliant.
6. Team Leadership: Guide and develop teams across Financial Risk, Quantitative Risk, Ops Risk & Risk Engineering, fostering a risk-aware culture.
7. Stakeholder Management: Partner with the Executive Committee and regulatory bodies to integrate risk considerations into strategic decisions.

About you:

• 15-20 years in banking or financial services, with 10+ years in financial risk management, including Credit Risk and ALM.
• Proven experience as a Risk Director, especially during organizational transformations.
• Deep expertise in credit risk modeling and management.
• Strong understanding of ALM principles and financial markets.
• Experience leading risk transformation projects in regulated environments.
