Mercor is seeking a native Gujarati annotator to work on document layout annotation and transcription. You will ensure exact Gujarati text reproduction and identify all meaningful regions on complex pages.

Responsibilities include annotating structure, recording reading order, linking regions to figures or tables, and performing metadata checks; all work undergoes a second expert review for accuracy.

Qualifications

• Native Gujarati speaker with full command of Gujarati script and orthography.
• Experience in annotation, transcription, localization, or proofreading is preferred.
• Exact character-level accuracy is required; correct diacritics and conjuncts are essential.

Responsabilités

• Open and verify tasks; confirm Gujarati content and legibility.
• Annotate page regions with types and reading-order indices.
• Record relationships between regions and figures/tables.
• Transcribe Gujarati text exactly as shown, flagging unreadable sections.
• Capture metadata: language, document type, source, page size, handwriting flags.
• Review colleague's work through second-expert verification.
