Mercor is seeking native Telugu speakers for professional document annotation tasks focused on Telugu transcription and layout understanding. You will annotate structure, transcribe text exactly in Telugu script, and ensure accurate reading order across multi-column pages.

Applicants should have meticulous attention to detail, experience with digital annotation tools, and comfort with diverse document layouts such as newspapers and forms.

Qualifications

• Native Telugu speaker with full command of Telugu script and orthography.
• Experience with annotation, transcription, localization, or related language data review.
• Character-level accuracy is essential; diacritics and conjuncts must be correct.

Responsabilités

• Source Telugu documents for annotation projects.
• Identify and bound every meaningful region on a page (title, heading, paragraph, table, figure, etc.).
• Assign component type and reading-order index to each region.
• Link regions to their parent table or figure as needed.
• Transcribe all text exactly in Telugu script, flagging illegible areas.
• Capture page metadata (language, document type, source, dimensions, handwriting/form/tables flags).
• Participate in peer review, with second Telugu expert validating work.
