Job summary

Harmattan AI in Île-de-France, Paris region, is seeking a Forward Deployed Software Engineer to own and deploy software solutions in customer environments, writing connectors and adapting applications to field realities.

You will lead end-to-end integrations on site, configure deployments, troubleshoot issues, and feed back lessons to the core product team, while traveling domestically and internationally as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in software integration and application configuration for diverse environments.
• Strong end-to-end software ownership: build, configure, deploy, and debug.
• Comfortable on Linux; able to deploy and debug in operational settings.
• Systems thinking across an integrated system and external interfaces.
• Familiarity with enterprise standards and interoperability protocols is a plus.
• Understanding of network architecture and data links in enterprise environments.
• Customer-facing maturity, able to work directly with customer tech teams on site.
• Field temperament with autonomy, rigorous processes, and safety in mission-critical contexts.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for on-site work.
• Proficiency in English mandatory; French a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement software interfaces that connect our software to the customer’s existing client systems; adapt integrations to each customer context and validate data flows end-to-end on site.
• Configure, customise, and parameterise software for each deployment’s operational context; deploy and commission on site; iterate on configuration and behaviour based on feedback.
• Support the on-premises release and update process; ensure changes to the baseline do not break deployed instances.
• Debug software issues in operational settings; drive resolution on site and elevate with structured documentation.
• Surface reusable integration and customisation needs to the core product team so durable capability lands in the baseline rather than accumulating as per-deployment forks.
• Work directly with customer technical teams to understand operational requirements and ensure the software delivers against them.
• Maintain rigorous records of integration architecture, configuration decisions, deployment states, and issue resolution.
