Lever, Inc. (partner company) is seeking a Director of Data Engineering based in France. This senior role leads data architecture, roadmap, and a scalable data foundation to empower critical business decisions.

You will own the data model and governance while guiding a small engineering team through hands-on architecture, platform improvements, and enterprise system integrations. The role emphasizes AI-driven data practices, high-trust remote work, and the opportunity to influence data strategy

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data architecture or data engineering
• 3+ years leading teams
• Cloud-based data platforms with BigQuery or equivalent
• SQL and Python; dbt or similar
• Data modeling from business concepts and requirements
• Data quality, governance, monitoring, observability practices
• Sprint-based intake, prioritization, and delivery for a data team
• ELT tools such as Fivetran
• ERP experience a plus
• DTC/CPG experience preferred
• Hands-on leadership and growth orientation
• AI agents or AI-assisted engineering tools experience

Responsabilités

• Own the data roadmap, architecture, and company-wide data model
• Modernize legacy data jobs and reduce technical debt
• Ensure data pipelines are resilient, reliable, and available
• Establish data quality, governance, monitoring, and observability
• Manage warehouse and infrastructure costs with growing data needs
• Lead intake and sprint planning with prioritization by business impact
• Coach and develop a small data engineering team
• Stay hands-on with architecture, engineering, and troubleshooting
• Integrate new enterprise systems (ERP) into the data ecosystem
• Scale AI-native ways of working and AI agents in workflows
• Promote pragmatic engineering driven by business questions
• Foster data integrity and trust and grow engineers into senior roles
