Job summary

Regal Rexnord seeks a technical writer to craft and update product documentation, translate materials, and format media in line with the corporate graphic charter. You will collaborate with R&D, design, sales and plant teams to ensure precise technical instructions and up-to-date intranet publications.

The role requires strong mechanical/electro-mechanical knowledge, French writing fluency, and experience with Adobe Suite and SolidWorks. On-site posting in a global manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Strong technical writing ability across mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical and electronic domains.
• Fluency in written French; professional English writing skills are required.
• Familiarity with company graphic charter and document layouts.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; able to create layouts in Adobe apps.
• Experience with SolidWorks, Composer and Visualize; After Effects for video edits.

Responsibilities

• Write and update technical instructions for new and existing products based on data from design engineers.
• Translate documents into English and other languages via external providers when needed.
• Create new documents or media for special operations or presentations; update catalogues.
• Format all printing media according to the group’s graphic charter; maintain intranet updates.
• Periodically produce the R&D Newsletter and ensure consistent documentation presentation.

PURPOSES OF THE USE

The position of technical writer is responsible for writing - and updating - technical instructions and in general all technical documentation associated with the products marketed by the company, for the attention of customers and users, or for commercial events It participates in marketing activities related to the group, and formats marketing support materials (catalogues, technical sales brochures, videos and/or various animations)

LABOUR RELATIONS

Reporting hierarchically to the Research and Development Manager; works in collaboration with the marketing manager of the Stromag Europe division Close collaboration with the members of the design office, the sales managers, the Product Management and the plant manager for specific projects In punctual relations with external service providers (printers, translators, etc.)

DESCRIPTION OF SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES

On the basis of technical information collected from the technicians and engineers of the design office, writes and implements technical instructions for new products, and adaptations of standard products; submits them for re-reading to the various interlocutors who are involved in the subject Ensures the translation of these documents into English and other languages through external service providers as needed Upon specific requests (for a special operation, a new presentation, etc.) creates new documents or media, using advanced means and/or software Annual update of the Sime/Stromag catalogue Bimonthly writing of the R&D Newsletter Is in charge of the formatting of all printing media, and of respecting the application of the group's graphic charter for all communication media

RESPONSIBILITIES EXERCISED AND SCOPE FOR ACTION

• Ensures that photos, videos, or audio tapes are royalty-free and that they come from an authorized soundtrack
• Must ensure regular publication of documentation on the intranet to ensure that it is up-to-date
• Performs numbering and managing indices for communication media
• Must have a rigorous presentation and ensure consistency between the different documents

SPECIFIC PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE

• Very good technical knowledge (mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical, electronic, ...)
• Writing skills (fluency in the French language)
• Knowledge of the graphic charter
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Pack
• Proficiency in the Adobe suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) for document layout
• Knows how to use SolidWorks, masters Composer & Visualize for realistic renderings and animations, masters After Effect for video editing
• English, Written and Spoken Read Nuclear Safety Culture
