Job summary

Outokumpu Chrome Oy in Finland seeks an IT Application Specialist to support and develop business-critical applications in a manufacturing environment. You will ensure safe, stable, and efficient application services for the site, working with IT/OT teams, business stakeholders and external providers.

The role covers application lifecycle management, incident support, configuration, security compliance, and driving improvements through standardization and automation.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Information Systems or equivalent.
• Several years of IT application support experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP and/or MES systems.
• Intermediate server and cloud skills.
• Intermediate DB admin skills (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL).
• Basic programming skills (Java, Python, C/C++, .NET, COBOL, MS technologies).
• Strong problem-solving and quality-focused mindset.
• Fluent Finnish and English communication.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, reliable application support per SLAs.
• Manage lifecycle of software apps: install, maintain, upgrades, retirement.
• Support end-users, resolve incidents, document tickets in ITSM tools.
• Configure and customize apps to meet manufacturing needs.
• Collaborate with IT, OT, vendors for integrations and data flows.
• Support testing, deployment, validation activities.
• Ensure apps comply with IT security policies and regulations.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and app functionality.
• Provide user training and guidance on features and best practices.
