RINA in Finland (Europe Marine Engineering) is seeking a Machinery & Systems Project Engineer to lead the technical execution of complex piping projects, ensuring quality, safety and compliance across the project lifecycle. You will coordinate with engineers and subcontractors, validate diagrams, mentor junior staff, and report to the Discipline Leader.

A Bachelor's in Mechanical or Naval Engineering and 3+ years in shipbuilding are required; AutoCAD proficiency is desirable.

Competenze

• 3+ years of experience in ship building.
• Knowledge of passenger ship water systems.
• Understanding of standard project management methodologies.
• Good AutoCAD proficiency.
• Knowledge of quality control and assurance processes in engineering projects.
• Familiarity with ship-building rules and regulations (flag, classification society, USPH, and other international standards).
• Strong analytical skills to address technical challenges.
• Ability to assess technical risks and proactively mitigate them.

RINA is currently recruiting for a Machinery & Systems Project Engineer to join its office in Finland within the Europe Marine Engineering Division.

Mission

The Project Engineer is responsible for the successful technical execution of high-value and complex projects, focusing on maintaining the quality and compliance of piping system. This role is instrumental in integrating multidisciplinary technical contributions, ensuring that all project requirements are met according to safety and industry standards. The Project Engineer plays a key role within the project team, supervising technical implementation and collaborating closely with other engineers and subcontractors to deliver on client expectations.

Key Accountabilities

Technical Implementation:

• Ensure the technical delivery of projects meets content quality and respects project milestones.
• Oversee and manage all technical work related to project requirements.Main responsability on piping systems

Technical Team Coordination:

• Ensure efficient execution.
• Collaborate with other engineers, technical teams, and subcontractors to maintain cohesive project execution.
• Coordinate with the Discipline Manager for resource adjustments and reassignments as needed.

Quality Control:

• Implement quality control measures to ensure technical compliance with project standards.

Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure adherence to all technical regulations, compliance protocols, and safety standards.
• Address compliance and safety concerns promptly to prevent delays or risks, with support from the Discipline Leader.

Technical Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Validating diagrama accuracy before submital.

Training and Mentorship:

• Provide on-the-job technical training and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Foster technical development within the team to ensure a high level of competence.

Communication:

• Adavance level of English.
• Act as a bridge between technical teams, the Project Manager, and stakeholders to facilitate clear communication.
• Ensure technical issues are well-communicated and understood by all relevant parties.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement within technical project aspects.
• Apply lessons learned from past projects to enhance future technical performance.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Engineering

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in ship building.
• Knowledge on passenger ship hotelsde water systems
• Understanding of standard project management methodologies and techniques.
• Good AutoCAD
• Applies technical expertise in a broad field of knowledge for multiple applications and has demonstrated a full grasp of related disciplines.
• Knowledge in quality control and assurance processes. Knowledge of compliance and safety standards in engineering projects.
• Familiarity with ship building rules and regulations(flag, classificatios society, USPH and other international standars ).
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate technical challenges and provide effective solutions.
• Ability to assess technical risks and proactively address issues before they impact project timelines.
