Job summary

Wärtsilä is seeking an experienced HR IT Project Manager to plan and deliver strategic HR technology projects globally, with Helsinki as the preferred location and hybrid work options. You will lead Time & Payroll initiatives, collaborating across HR, IT and vendors to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and strong business outcomes.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of IT project leadership in HR, deep experience with SAP SuccessFactors, Workday or Oracle HCM, and excellent stakeholder management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Human Resources, Project Management or an equivalent field.
• At least 8 years of experience leading IT projects, mostly in the HR area.
• Proven experience in managing complex, cross‑functional projects across multiple countries and stakeholder groups.
• Experience in project management related to time management, payroll and integrations.
• Experience working with HR systems such as SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, Oracle HCM or similar solutions.
• Strong project governance, planning, financial management and reporting skills.
• Experience handling compliance, data privacy and cyber security topics.
• Experience in managing external vendors and delivery partners.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Time and Payroll Tech Workstream in collaboration with service manager, technical experts and global programme management.
• Lead HR technology projects from initiation through deployment and hypercare.
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, risks, issues and dependencies.
• Coordinate solution design, testing, deployment and transition into operations.
• Collaborate with HR stakeholders, Wärtsilä IT teams, business units and external vendors.
• Prepare project plans, status reports, steering committee materials, business cases and project gate reviews.
• Ensure compliance with project governance, cybersecurity, data privacy and enterprise architecture requirements.
• Support change management, communication, training and user adoption activities.
