Job summary

Cititec is seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager to lead the MEP design delivery for a hyperscale data centre project in Helsinki, Finland.

You will coordinate with clients, designers, sub-contractors, and the BIM team to ensure quality and timely design handover from conception through commissioning. The role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and deep knowledge of building services, fire protection, and building physics.

Qualifications

• Experience in MEP design coordination and approvals.
• Site inspection and commissioning experience.
• Knowledge of fire protection and building physics.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Management of MEP design deliverables per construction and Client requirements.
• Coordinate MEP design between client, specialists, subcontractors and project team.
• Manage milestone deliverables for design quality and coordination changes including QA.
• Design meetings with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Design handover of MEP design packages to project team.
• Support BIM team with BIM coordination processes.
• Review and control construction drawings, shop drawings and submittals.
• Quality control during construction via site visits.
• Report weekly/monthly design status.

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager to join a global leading general contractor on a hyperscale data centre construction project in Helsinki, Finland.

Key Responsibilities

• Management of MEP design deliverables in accordance with construction requirements and Client's requirements
• Coordination of all MEP design matters between the key project stakeholders - client, specialist designers, sub contractors and project team
• Management of key milestone deliverables for completion in relation to quality of design, implementation and coordination of design changes including Quality Assurance in accordance with the design consultants' contracted scope of services
• Design meetings with clients, consultants, and sub-contractors
• Design Handover of MEP design packages to MEP project team
• Communication and support for project Team in terms of all necessary design information for construction
• Support BIM Team in terms of BIM Coordination process
• Review and control of the construction drawings, shop drawings and technical submittals
• Management of As-built design Package with project team
• Quality control during construction via site visit
• Report the weekly/monthly design status
• Several experiences of MEP design coordination/approval, site inspection and commissioning processes
• Good understanding in the field of fire protection and building physics as well as a good spatial imagination.
• Good knowledge in the use of BIM and CAD programs as well as in the field of digital management
• Solution-oriented thinking, negotiating skills as well as a good feel for people and issues and strong communication skills.
• Safe application of building standards and guidelines.
