Job summary

PE Global are seeking an experienced Design Engineer in Vaasa, Finland to support development, coordination, and delivery of design solutions across Civil, Structural, Architectural, and MEP disciplines. Ensuring designs are compliant, coordinated, and aligned with project requirements.

This is a full-time permanent contract operating on a shift rotational roster. Please note there is no visa sponsorship on offer; candidates must have valid EU/UK passport or appropriate permit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or similar discipline.
• Minimum 3 years in a design engineering role within construction or building services.
• Experience in multidisciplinary design teams on construction projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a project team.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support development and coordination of design solutions across all disciplines.
• Prepare and review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with internal teams, consultants and stakeholders on design activities.
• Participate in design meetings, coordination meetings, and project reviews.
• Liaise with construction teams to ensure design intent is understood and implemented on site.
• Assist in managing RFIs and responses to technical queries.
• Review and approve technical submittals and design documentation.
• Ensure coordination between CSA and MEP design elements.
• Identify and assist in resolving design, technical and coordination issues.
• Maintain accurate design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Our client has grown to become the leading and most trusted company in our sector and is the only dedicated Data Centre delivery partner in Europe.

They are currently constructing multiple turnkey data centre projects in 7 different European countries, equating to over 430 MW of IT load in flight.

We are currently seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our project team in Vaasa, Finland. This role will be responsible for supporting the development, coordination, and delivery of design solutions across Civil, Structural, Architectural, and MEP disciplines, ensuring designs are compliant, coordinated, and aligned with project requirements. This is a full time permanent contract operating on a shift rotational roster.

Requirements

• Support the development and coordination of design solutions across all project disciplines

• Assist in ensuring design deliverables meet project specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or similar discipline
• Minimum 3 years experience in a design engineering role within construction or building services
• Experience working with multidisciplinary design teams on construction projects
• Good understanding of design principles, standards, and regulatory requirements
• Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit or similar)
• Strong organisational and communication skill
• Ability to work collaboratively within a project team environment
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Data centre, industrial, or mission-critical project experience is advantageous
