Job summary

PE Global is partnering with a leading client in the data centre sector to appoint a Design Project Manager in Vaasa, Finland. The role oversees the design process across Civil, Structural, Architectural and MEP disciplines to ensure coordinated, compliant designs delivered on schedule.

Ideal candidates hold a relevant degree and 7+ years in design or project management within construction, with strong coordinating skills and buildability focus. Visa sponsorship and relocation are not offered.

Qualifications

• Lead design process across all disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and stakeholders for timely design information.
• Manage the design programme in line with overall project schedules.
• Ensure design deliverables meet specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Chair and attend Design Meetings, Coordination Meetings and Project Reviews.
• Oversee review/approval of drawings, specifications and submittals.
• Liaise with construction teams to ensure design intent and buildability.
• Manage design changes, RFIs, and timely resolution of technical queries.
• Coordinate CSA and MEP design elements.
• Support commercial teams by identifying design-related risks and variations.
• Monitor design progress and report to senior management.
• Identify and resolve design/technical/coordination issues.
• Maintain design documentation throughout the lifecycle.

We are currently seeking an experienced Design Project Manager to join our project team in Vaasa, Finland. This role will be responsible for leading and managing the design process across Civil, Structural, Architectural, and MEP disciplines, ensuring designs are coordinated, compliant, and delivered in line with programme and project requirements.

Requirements

• Lead and manage the design process across all project disciplines throughout the project lifecycle
• Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of design information
• Manage the design programme in alignment with overall project schedules
• Ensure design deliverables meet project specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards

• Liaise closely with construction teams to ensure design intent is achieved and buildability is considered

• Monitor design progress and provide regular reports to senior management and stakeholders

• Ensure all design documentation is maintained and up to date throughout the project lifecycle

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or similar discipline
• Minimum 7+ years’ experience in design management or project management within construction
• Strong experience managing multidisciplinary design teams on large-scale projects
• Proven ability to manage design programmes and deliverables in line with project timelines
• Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
• Strong technical understanding of CSA and MEP systems and design integration
• Knowledge of relevant design standards, codes, and regulatory requirements
• Ability to work collaboratively across design and construction teams
• Data centre, industrial, or mission-critical project experience is advantageous
