We are looking for an experienced Raw Material Sourcing Specialist and Buyer to join the team of an international manufacturer of Technical Textiles. Our Client’s Head office is based in Sweden with subsidiaries in Turkey and Morocco. The selected candidate will be based full time in the new office in Madrid. The position requires frequent travel to Morocco, Portugal, and potentially France.

Candidates must be able to relocate to Madrid. The business language is English, so fluency is essential, and preference will be given to candidates with Spanish, Portuguese, or French.

With products ranging from smart textiles, non-wovens, coated textiles, plastics, and leather, this is an excellent, varied, and challenging role for a Textile / Raw Material Specialist. The position would suit candidates from an industry background, with sourcing experience and good industry connections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sourcing & Procurement: Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers for textiles, fabrics, accessories, plastics, foam, and special finishes.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Develop strong relationships with key suppliers in Morocco, Turkey, and Europe to ensure quality, pricing, and timely delivery.
• Negotiation & Cost Optimization: Lead price negotiations and manage supplier contracts to optimize cost efficiency while maintaining product quality.
• Market & Trend Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, raw material price fluctuations, and sustainability practices to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with the Madrid-based team, factory managers in Morocco and Turkey, and design teams to align sourcing strategies with production needs.
• Travel & On-Site Visits: Conduct regular visits to suppliers and production facilities in Morocco, Spain, and potentially France for quality control, audits, and business development.

Candidate Profile:

• Experience: Relevant experience in textile sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of textiles, fabrics, accessories, as well as plastics, foam, and special finishes used in manufacturing.
• Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and ensure cost efficiency without compromising quality.
• Communication & Coordination: Ability to work remotely while effectively collaborating with teams in Madrid, Morocco, and Turkey.
• Languages: Fluent in English; knowledge of Spanish, Portuguese, or French is a plus.
• Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel frequently to Morocco, Spain, and potentially France.
