Overview
We are seeking an Operations Excellence Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and implementing cost reduction alternatives, benchmarking design against industry norms, and facilitating value workshops. The key function of this role is to provide support to project leaders, engineering and construction teams, and clients in the identification and implementation of cost (or schedule) reduction alternatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to project leaders, engineering and construction teams at the identification and implementation of cost (or schedule) reduction alternatives.
- Benchmark design against historical performance, industry norms, and client\'s standard designs in order to provide alternative design that meet but not exceed customer requirements.
- Facilitate value workshops and identify and qualify opportunities for process enhancement.
- Manage communications or workshops with Clients if required.
- Prepare multi-discipline conceptual and definitive cost reduction proposals for Capital Projects with assistance of project technical disciplines.
- Break down silos, improving communications and enable individuals to contribute to a team solution.
- Provide recommendations which would be incorporated in corporate specifications and standards for future.
- Translate the identified project scope and proposed alternatives into an estimate of capital expenditure costs for design, procurement, and construction.
- Identify areas of uncertainty and apply appropriate allowances.
- In coordination with in-house department Estimation support team, collect actual and alternative cost performance. Condition and normalize data for future use, by developing metrics and benchmarking information.
- Keep abreast of significant development in new techniques and materials by close review of technical literature, contacts with contractors, and attendance at professional and technical meetings.
- Use In-house procedure and Value Improvement database and ensure database is updated during the execution of the projects involved on.
Requirements
- Degree in engineering discipline.
- 10-15 years of experience including at least 5 years devoted to petrochemical, refinery, chemical, or power generation projects as senior specialist or project engineer.
- Expertise : Advanced industry expertise and proven ability to develop deep understanding of industry trends and strategic opportunities.
- Familiarity with construction practices, materials, and equipment. Ability to work with project teams, build relationships with internal and external clients to work with international cultures and having international experience is preferable.
