Job summary

Six Senses Quexigal Palace in Spain seeks a dedicated Sommelier to lead wine service and elevate dining experiences with curated selections. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of sommelier experience, a high school diploma (hospitality diploma preferred), strong wine knowledge, and fluency in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality diploma/degree preferred.
• Experience in beverage service and wine knowledge.
• Fluent in English and Spanish; certifications a plus.
• Ability to manage inventory and control costs.

Responsibilities

• Manage a wine station with outstanding service and opportunity to upsell beverages.
• Conduct wine seminars and tastings for guests.
• Train restaurant staff in wine service.
• Decant older vintages with proper technique and presentation.
• Inspect wine lists and menus; update as needed.
• Pair wines with dishes to enhance cuisine and preparation methods.
• Organize mis-en-place to ensure smooth service.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of wine and equipment.
• Adhere to Six Senses standards and guest feedback; perform extra duties as assigned by managers.
