UST España & Latam is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with Java and Kubernetes to design, build, and operate cloud-native applications in a collaborative Agile/DevOps setting.

You will deploy in Kubernetes, ensure API-driven services, and contribute to CI/CD and automated testing. The role requires solid Java/Spring Boot experience and English proficiency, with three days per week on-site in Madrid.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in building scalable cloud-native applications in Agile/DevOps environments.
• Strong English communication skills and willingness to travel to Madrid offices.

• Collaborate within cross-functional Agile teams following a DevOps-centric delivery model.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, release, and monitor business-critical applications.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold software quality best practices.
• Work with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable software solutions.
• Partner with Solution Architects to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture.

What we look for?

We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer with Java and Kubernetes who enjoys building scalable, cloud-native applications while working in a collaborative Agile and DevOps environment to join one of our strategic international projects within the banking sector.

Is required to go to the client's offices in central Madrid 3 days a week.

High english level is required.

• Collaborate within cross-functional Agile teams following a DevOps-centric delivery model.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, release, and monitor business-critical applications.
• Participate actively in code reviews and champion software quality best practices.
• Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver valuable solutions.
• Partner with Solution Architects to design scalable and maintainable software aligned with enterprise architecture guidelines.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and service-oriented solutions.
• Implement automated testing strategies using TDD and BDD practices.
• Deploy and manage applications in Kubernetes-based environments.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and continuous delivery initiatives.
• Strong experience in Java development and Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and RESTful APIs.
• Experience working with Oracle SQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.
• Knowledge of cloud-native application deployment and management, preferably in Azure environments.
• Experience with GitLab, Jenkins, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles and automated testing.
• Proven experience working with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and/or Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
• Experience participating in Agile software development teams.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of Avro serialization.
• Experience working with OpenAPI specifications.
• Familiarity with UML modeling techniques.
• Experience within financial services or banking environments.
• Passion for software craftsmanship, engineering best practices, and continuous improvement.
