UST in Madrid is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with Java and Spring Boot to build scalable, cloud-native applications in a DevOps-driven, Agile environment for a strategic banking project.

You will travel to client offices in central Madrid three days a week and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design RESTful services, deploy on Kubernetes, and implement TDD/BDD.

Formación

• Strong experience in Java development and Spring Boot.
• SOA and RESTful API design.
• Experience with Oracle SQL databases.
• Cloud-native deployment in Azure.
• GitLab, Jenkins, and CI/CD practices.
• DevOps and automated testing (TDD/BDD).
• Agile software development experience.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's in CS or related field, or equivalent experience.
• C1 English level.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate in cross-functional Agile teams with a DevOps-centric delivery model.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, release, and monitor applications.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold software quality:**
• Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Partner with Solution Architects to design scalable software in line with enterprise guidelines.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and service-oriented solutions.
• Implement automated testing with TDD/BDD.
• Deploy and manage applications in Kubernetes environments.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and continuous delivery initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate within cross-functional Agile teams following a DevOps-centric delivery model.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, release, and monitor business-critical applications.
• Participate actively in code reviews and champion software quality best practices.
• Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver valuable solutions.
• Partner with Solution Architects to design scalable and maintainable software aligned with enterprise architecture guidelines.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and service-oriented solutions.
• Implement automated testing strategies using TDD and BDD practices.
• Deploy and manage applications in Kubernetes-based environments.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and continuous delivery initiatives.

Mandatory requirements:

• Strong experience in Java development and Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and RESTful APIs.
• Experience working with Oracle SQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes , Docker , and Helm.
• Knowledge of cloud-native application deployment and management, preferably in Azure environments.
• Experience with GitLab , Jenkins, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles and automated testing.
• Proven experience working with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and/or Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
• Experience participating in Agile software development teams.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• C1 english level

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of Avro serialization.
• Experience working with OpenAPI specifications.
• Familiarity with UML modeling techniques.
• Experience within financial services or banking environments.
• Passion for software craftsmanship, engineering best practices, and continuous improvement.
