UST España & Latam is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with Java and Spring Boot to build scalable, cloud-native applications in an Agile DevOps setting in Madrid. You will join strategic international projects within the banking sector and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The role requires visiting client offices in central Madrid three days a week and a high level of English. You will design, develop, test, and deploy critical software while embracing modern DevOps practices.

Formación

• Strong Java and Spring Boot experience.
• Cloud-native application design and Kubernetes experience.
• Agile DevOps delivery mindset with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience with Oracle SQL or other relational databases.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate in cross-functional Agile teams following a DevOps-centric delivery model.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, release, and monitor business-critical applications.
• Participate in code reviews and promote software quality practices.
• Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver valuable solutions.
• Partner with Solution Architects to design scalable and maintainable software.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and service-oriented solutions.
• Implement automated testing strategies (TDD/BDD).
• Deploy and manage applications in Kubernetes-based environments.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and continuous delivery initiatives.

What we look for?

We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer with Java and Spring Boot who enjoys building scalable, cloud-native applications while working in a collaborative Agile and DevOps environment to join one of our strategic international projects within the banking sector.

Is required to go to the client's offices in central Madrid 3 days a week.

High english level is required.

• Collaborate within cross-functional Agile teams following a DevOps-centric delivery model.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, release, and monitor business-critical applications.
• Participate actively in code reviews and champion software quality best practices.
• Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver valuable solutions.
• Partner with Solution Architects to design scalable and maintainable software aligned with enterprise architecture guidelines.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and service-oriented solutions.
• Implement automated testing strategies using TDD and BDD practices.
• Deploy and manage applications in Kubernetes-based environments.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and continuous delivery initiatives.
• Strong experience in Java development and Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and RESTful APIs.
• Experience working with Oracle SQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.
• Knowledge of cloud-native application deployment and management, preferably in Azure environments.
• Experience with GitLab, Jenkins, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles and automated testing.
• Proven experience working with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and/or Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
• Experience participating in Agile software development teams.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of Avro serialization.
• Experience working with OpenAPI specifications.
• Familiarity with UML modeling techniques.
• Experience within financial services or banking environments.
• Passion for software craftsmanship, engineering best practices, and continuous improvement.
