UST in Madrid is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with Java and Kubernetes to design, develop and deploy cloud-native applications in a collaborative Agile/DevOps environment.

You will work on strategic banking projects, travel to central Madrid offices three days a week, and contribute to RESTful services, CI/CD pipelines and scalable architectures with a strong focus on code quality and collaboration. Fluency in English is required.

Formación

• Strong experience in Java development and Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.
• Knowledge of cloud-native deployment and Azure environments.
• Experience with GitLab, Jenkins, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong DevOps and automated testing mindset (TDD/BDD).
• Experience in Agile software development teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent).
• C1 English level.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement automated testing strategies using TDD and BDD practices.
• Deploy and manage applications in Kubernetes-based environments.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and continuous delivery initiatives.

Mandatory requirements

• Strong experience in Java development and Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and RESTful APIs.
• Experience working with Oracle SQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes , Docker, and Helm.
• Knowledge of cloud-native application deployment and management, preferably in Azure environments.
• Experience with GitLab , Jenkins, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles and automated testing.
• Proven experience working with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and/or Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
• Experience participating in Agile software development teams.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• C1 english level

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of Avro serialization.
• Experience working with OpenAPI specifications.
• Familiarity with UML modeling techniques.
• Experience within financial services or banking environments.
• Passion for software craftsmanship, engineering best practices, and continuous improvement.
