AgileEngine is seeking a Python Developer to build and scale an event-driven integration platform, including APIs, resilience mechanisms, and AI-facing integrations.

In this role you will design OpenAPI/AsyncAPI interfaces, work with Kafka, and ensure reliability across distributed systems, with opportunities to apply GenAI tooling in daily workflows. The team values learning and practical, secure engineering practices.

Formación

• 4+ years of production Python experience with typed, tested services and APIs.
• Strong knowledge of event-driven and asynchronous architecture.
• REST API design experience with OpenAPI; familiar with AsyncAPI.
• Experience with Kafka or similar streaming platform.
• GenAI-assisted development and ability to work with AI coding agents.
• Testing discipline (pytest, contract testing), CI/CD pipelines.
• Linux, Git and containers; distributed systems debugging.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for global audiences.

Responsabilidades

• Build and evolve the backbone Python service handling event taxonomy and a durable replayable event log.
• Design and maintain contract-first interfaces using OpenAPI and AsyncAPI.
• Create the correlation layer to translate signals into ITSM actions with exactly-once semantics.
• Develop platform resilience mechanisms to ensure operation during upstream failures.
• Support multiple access patterns: fire-and-forget, poll, webhook, streaming ingest.
• Ship event types registry and self-service onboarding for consuming teams.
• Build GenAI-facing surfaces for agent skills and tool-calling.
• Modernize legacy integrations with controlled deprecation paths.
• Own end-to-end quality: code reviews, testing, observability, production support.
• Engage in squad ceremonies and customer meetings to understand requirements.
