Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Python Developer to build and scale an event-driven integration platform, with APIs, resilience mechanisms, and AI-facing integrations. You will work on a Python service handling an observation/intent/outcome taxonomy, a durable event log, and workers that act on ITSM platforms.

The role requires strong Python production experience, expertise in event-driven architecture, API design, and familiarity with AI-assisted tooling.

Qualifications

• 4+ years production Python experience with typed, tested services and APIs.
• Strong knowledge of event-driven and asynchronous architecture.
• Experience designing REST APIs and OpenAPI; familiarity with AsyncAPI.
• Experience with Kafka or a similar streaming platform.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development and contract testing.
• Proficient in CI/CD, Linux, Git, and containerized environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve a Python service handling event taxonomy and durable logs.
• Design interfaces with OpenAPI and AsyncAPI contracts.
• Implement a resilient platform with multiple access patterns.
• Develop GenAI-facing integration surfaces and agent tooling.
• Own end-to-end quality: reviews, testing, observability, and production support.
• Collaborate with squads and document architectural decisions.
