Xe.com is hiring a senior backend engineer to own end-to-end backend problems and shape how the team builds. You will design APIs, data models, and production services to move money across currencies, while mentoring engineers and collaborating with product, compliance and ops.

You will work in a small, fast-moving team that values practical decisions, reliability, and modern tech. Expect a hybrid work model with on-site collaboration and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years building production backend services.
• Strong backend proficiency in C# / .NET; other OO languages welcome.
• SQL and relational DB fundamentals.
• Writing and maintaining tests.
• Daily use of agentic coding tools across the SDLC.
• Production experience with AWS, CI/CD and modern deployment.
• Strong system design and architecture in SOA/microservices.
• Payments/FX or regulated-industry experience.
• Technical leadership: mentoring engineers and design reviews.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and own backend services that move money and manage multi-currency balances.
• Lead cross-functional delivery with product, compliance and operations.
• Lead the build of partner integrations and settlement infrastructure.
• Own production health, reliability, observability, and incident response.
• Lead design reviews and mentor mid-level engineers.
• Use agentic tools daily and modernize legacy services with architects.
