Job summary

Thompson Madrid, a luxury lifestyle hotel in central Madrid, seeks a Rooms Controller to manage inventory and room assignments, ensuring seamless arrivals and a superior guest experience.

You will coordinate between Reception, Quality and other departments, monitor room status, and support back-office needs. Fluency in Spanish and English, hospitality training, and proactive problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Spanish and English, both spoken and written.
• Experience in hotel reception or similar with autonomy in arrivals and room assignment.
• Studies related to Tourism or Hospitality.
• Knowledge of Front Office and room inventory management.
• Microsoft Office and email proficiency; Opera Cloud knowledge is a plus.
• Attention to detail, empathy and guest experience orientation.
• Ability to work autonomously, organize and prioritize tasks, anticipate needs and follow up.
• Proactive mindset with initiative and cross‑department collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Plan and optimize inventory and room assignment, anticipating needs and proposing solutions.
• Act as main liaison between Reception and Quality, coordinating prep priorities and room follow‑up.
• Monitor arrivals, departures, rooms pending delivery and incidents affecting availability.
• Coordinate operational requirements of groups, visits and showrooms with involved departments.
• Support Reception from back office in administrative and operational tasks requiring continuity.
• Collaborate with management to improve processes and organize the department, ensuring clear communication.
• Provide occasional support at Reception for exceptional operational needs.
