YOA Yacht Crew in Barcelona is seeking an experienced, hands-on Engineer to join a 60m motor yacht undergoing a major shipyard refit from October through May 2027. The role is hands-on, with ownership of individual projects and the ability to work autonomously.

Candidates should have Sole or Chief Engineer experience or extensive yacht/marine engineering background, with a track record of integrating and servicing large yacht machinery and systems.

Great opportunity for an experienced, hands‑on Engineer to join a 60m MY for an extensive shipyard refit in Barcelona, running from October through to May 2027.

We are looking for a technically strong and self‑sufficient Engineer who is confident taking ownership of jobs and working independently without the need for constant supervision. This could suit someone with previous Sole Engineer or Chief Engineer experience, or an experienced yacht/ marine engineer who is comfortable being given a task and seeing it through from start to finish.

The yacht will be undergoing significant refit works, so candidates should be confident working on and servicing the typical machinery and systems found onboard 50m+ yachts. The role will be very hands‑on and will involve a variety of technical work, including stripping out systems, generator installations and general engineering/refit projects.

Additional skills such as electrical knowledge, fabrication, GRP repairs, woodwork or other technical trades would be a strong advantage. Previous shipyard/refit/survey experience would be highly advantageous.

The ideal candidate will be:

PLEASE NOTE: Accommodation is not provided, so ideally looking for candidates already based in Barcelona or happy to arrange their own accommodation for the duration of the contract.

$6000–$6500 DOE.

Start date ideally before 15th October.
