Proteus Professionals is seeking an experienced Marine Electrician to join its technical service team in Spain, with opportunities in Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona. You will own electrical work onboard, diagnosing complex faults and installing, upgrading and commissioning complete systems on high-end yachts.

You will work on AC and DC systems, including power generation, distribution, charging, batteries and solar equipment, within a busy service environment and refit projects.

Formación

• Professional experience working with electrical systems onboard yachts or marine vessels.
• Strong practical understanding of both low-voltage DC and mains AC systems.
• Good electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with battery systems, chargers, inverters and power management.
• Ability to understand and work from electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Experience carrying out electrical installations, upgrades and commissioning.
• Confidence working independently and solving technical problems onboard.
• Good spoken and written English.
• High standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working onboard and in confined technical spaces.
• Experience with marine electronics, navigation equipment, communications or onboard data networks would be advantageous.
• Exposure to modern digital switching, lithium battery or renewable charging systems would be beneficial.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out electrical fault-finding across onboard AC and DC systems
• Install, repair and upgrade marine electrical equipment
• Configure and commission charging, inverter and power-management systems
• Diagnose issues involving batteries, alternators and onboard power distribution
• Support battery-bank upgrades and modern lithium power installations
• Install and test solar charging equipment and related components
• Troubleshoot integrated digital control and switching systems
• Calculate electrical loads and help specify suitable onboard power solutions
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical information
• Complete electrical works as part of yacht maintenance and refit projects
• Test and commission completed installations before handover
• Work closely with other technical specialists, yacht crews and external contractors

Are you an experienced Marine Electrician with a strong background in yacht electrical systems, fault-finding and technical refit work?

We are supporting an established international yacht organisation looking to strengthen its technical service team in Spain, with opportunities available in both Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona.

This is a senior, hands-on position for someone comfortable taking ownership of electrical work onboard yachts - from diagnosing complex faults through to installing, upgrading and commissioning complete systems.

What you will work on

You will be involved in maintenance, repair and upgrade projects across a range of high-quality yachts.

The work covers both AC and DC systems and can include onboard power generation and distribution, charging systems, battery installations, inverters, digital control systems, solar equipment and associated electrical infrastructure.

Projects will vary considerably, so this would suit someone who enjoys troubleshooting and finding practical technical solutions rather than carrying out repetitive installation work.

You will be working within a busy yacht service environment supporting vessels undergoing maintenance, upgrades and more substantial refit periods.

Projects can range from individual equipment faults through to wider electrical modernisation programmes involving multiple interconnected onboard systems.

A strong diagnostic mindset will therefore be just as important as your installation experience.
