International Organization for Migration (IOM) Madrid is seeking a Social Assessment professional to identify beneficiaries' needs and design individualized care responses, through vulnerability assessments and tailored protection support.

You will work closely with the Protection Team Leader and Centre Coordinator, maintain case files, and ensure confidentiality while coordinating with partners to deliver person-centered protection services.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field with at least one year of related experience.
• Experience liaising with governmental/diplomatic authorities and international organizations is beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in multicultural environments.

Responsabilidades

Job purpose: The purpose of this role is to provide social assessment for beneficiaries, identifying their needs, capacities, vulnerabilities, and available resources to design appropriate and individualized care responses. This involves conducting vulnerability assessments according to IOM standards, identifying protection needs, and providing guidance on available services. The role contributes to ensuring a person-centered approach in case management, actively participating in coordination meetings, and supporting the Protection Team Leader and Centre Coordinator in reporting and identifying emerging trends and gaps in assistance. The position is crucial for delivering effective protection services and ensuring the well-being of migrants.

Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include conducting social assessments of beneficiaries to identify needs and vulnerabilities, and designing individualized care plans. The role involves performing vulnerability assessments in line with IOM procedures, identifying protection needs, and referring individuals to appropriate services. It requires close coordination with the Protection Team Leader, immediate reporting of urgent situations, and managing assigned cases with a person-centered approach. Maintaining updated case files, documenting interventions, and informing beneficiaries about their case progress are essential. The position also involves collecting and recording relevant case information for databases, supporting report preparation, and identifying trends and gaps in assistance. Ensuring confidentiality of migrant data and participating in internal coordination meetings are also key duties.

Education: A university degree in Social Work is preferred, ideally a bachelor's or higher from an accredited institution, with one year of related work experience. A degree in Psychology will be considered if the candidate demonstrates relevant work experience. Membership in a Social Workers' College is an advantage.

Work experience: Experience in liaising with governmental and diplomatic authorities and stakeholders is required. Experience working within international organizations, institutions, or non-governmental/governmental organizations is also beneficial. The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines is essential.

Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills in a multicultural environment. Demonstrated ability to draft clear and concise formal correspondence and project reports. Strong organizational, facilitation, writing, and presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including spreadsheets and databases. Experience with web-based management systems. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong work ethic and commitment to humanitarian principles.
