Organizational context: The International Organization for Migration (IOM), established in 1951, is the United Nations agency for migration. Job purpose: This role is crucial for ensuring the effective coordination and management of a reception resource, contributing to the timely and quality response to operational needs. The position supports the supervisor in daily management and the implementation of operational priorities, ensuring adherence to policies and standards. It plays a key part in strengthening management and coordination capacities of the team, identifying and mitigating operational gaps and risks. The role facilitates smooth coordination among operational teams, sectoral coordinators, authorities, and other stakeholders, promoting an integrated and coherent service delivery approach. Ultimately, the job purpose is to ensure the efficient operation of the reception facility and the well-being of the accommodated population through strong leadership and operational oversight.

Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include supervising, coordinating, and managing teams to ensure a timely and quality response to operational needs within the reception resource. This involves ensuring fluid coordination and effective collaboration among operational teams, sectoral coordinators, authorities, and other stakeholders for an integrated service delivery. The role supports the supervisor in daily management and implementing operational priorities, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. It strengthens team management and coordination capacities, provides technical guidance, and identifies/escalates operational needs, gaps, and risks with recommendations. The position supervises team performance, ensures activities align with operational procedures and humanitarian principles, and facilitates coordination meetings. It guarantees adequate information flow, supervises the implementation of activities like food and kit distribution, and coordinates with logistics and administration for operational needs. The role also oversees facility conditions, coordinates emergency preparedness, and contributes to operational reporting and situation analysis.

Education: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Political or Social Sciences, Law, International Relations, or a related field, with four years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, a secondary education qualification with at least six years of relevant professional experience in the aforementioned fields is acceptable.

Work experience: A minimum of one year of relevant work experience is required. Experience in direct assistance to migrants and/or refugees, and working in a multicultural environment is desirable. Familiarity with the operational context of reception facilities is beneficial.

Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, personal commitment, efficiency, and flexibility. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Excellent IT skills. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong work ethic and commitment to humanitarian principles. Willingness to work in difficult conditions.
