IOM Spain is seeking a qualified Project Manager to oversee planning, supervision, and monitoring of a migration-related project in Madrid. The role ensures coherence across activities, manages risks, coordinates teams, and guarantees timely information flow to authorities, donors, and stakeholders.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Political or Social Sciences, Law, International Relations, or related field, or equivalent with four years of relevant experience.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Political or Social Sciences, Law, International Relations, or a related field is required; four years of relevant professional experience, or secondary education with at least six years of relevant experience.
• Fluency in Spanish and English is required; knowledge of French and/or Arabic is an advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure and in multicultural and multinational environments; willingness to travel on short notice.

Job purpose: This role is responsible for the overall planning, supervision, and monitoring of a project, ensuring the achievement of expected results and established indicators. It involves managing risks and operational challenges, coordinating various project functions, and ensuring coherence in activities. The position serves as the primary institutional focal point for relevant authorities, donors, and stakeholders, promoting effective coordination and communication. It also acts as a liaison between the project management team and the IOM Spain office, ensuring timely strategic, programmatic, operational, and financial information flow. The role is crucial for overseeing the correct functioning of the project's resource center, ensuring services meet IOM's quality, protection, and care standards.

Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include leading project planning, supervision, and monitoring to achieve results and meet indicators, while managing risks and operational challenges. The role involves ensuring coordination among project functional areas and coherence of activities within the reception resource. It requires overseeing progress against the logical framework and programmatic documents, acting as the main institutional focal point for authorities, donors, and stakeholders, and fostering effective communication. The position serves as a liaison between the resource management team and the IOM Spain office, ensuring timely information flow. It also involves supervising the correct functioning of the resource center through site and facility coordinators, ensuring services meet IOM standards. The role includes leading the preparation of narrative and financial reports, supervising budget execution and resource allocation, and ensuring compliance with funding agreements, IOM policies, and internal controls.

Education: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Political or Social Sciences, Law, International Relations, or a related field is required, along with four years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, a secondary education qualification with at least six years of relevant professional experience in the mentioned fields is acceptable.

Work experience: A minimum of one year of relevant work experience is required. Demonstrable experience in project design, monitoring, and execution is essential. Experience in developing and implementing administrative control procedures, familiarity with direct assistance to migrants and/or refugees, and experience working in a multicultural environment are also necessary.

Skills: Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Capacity to work in multicultural and multinational environments. Operational skills and availability for short-notice travel. Knowledge of cultural differences relevant to task performance. Fluency in Spanish and English is required. Knowledge of French and/or Arabic is an advantage.
