To amplify our impact and expand our reach, we are looking for an experienced, strategic, and hands-on PR & Communications Manager to strengthen FoodLabs position as an industry thought leader and elevate the visibility of our portfolio companies.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Brand, PR & Communications Manager at FoodLabs, you will drive and execute innovative PR and communication strategies that not only reinforce our current position but also take our brand to the next level by introducing fresh, creative initiatives. We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just roll out the same old strategies but can bring new ideas to the table—whether it’s launching a new event series or pioneering creative social media campaigns. Based in Berlin, you will work closely with our leadership team, investment managers, and founders while enjoying significant autonomy and reporting directly to our Operating Partner, Thilo.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Public Relations

• Design and execute our PR & communications strategy to position FoodLabs as a leading player in the European food tech sector, targeting founders, limited partners, co-investors, and top talent

• Build and maintain relationships with top journalists, secure press coverage, and manage all media inquiries.

Owned Channels

• Manage our online presence and develop high-quality content strategies that highlight portfolio news, fundraising milestones, major portfolio achievements, and key events.

Events & Brand Visibility

• Spot and drive opportunities for visibility by securing speaker slots at global industry events and conferences

• Design innovative formats to take our brand to the next level; working closely with the investment team and partners on initiatives. Collaborate with our sister fund, Atlantic Labs, to design and execute initiatives – under the “From the Labs” cobrand – from Portfolio Days to campaigns.

Portfolio Support

• Provide strategic advice and hands-on support to portfolio companies on their PR initiatives, including the creation of press releases, media outreach, market positioning, and coordinating PR activities during key milestones.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• You live and breathe the European VC & startup ecosystem. You know the key players, media outlets, and trends.

• You have proven PR & comms experience - in venture capital, tech, startups, or an agency working with high-growth companies – or you’re a natural storyteller – with a background in journalism or media and conferences. Above all, we are looking for someone with a creative mind and are open to different backgrounds.

• You’re a relationship builder. You have a strong network with media outlets, journalists, event organizers, and ecosystem influencers.

• You’re a strong storyteller. You know how to translate complex topics into compelling narratives that engage different audiences.

• You execute. You love big ideas, but you’re also hands-on and get things done—fast.

• You can juggle multiple projects at once.

• You’re confident, proactive, and thrive in an autonomous role. You don’t wait for things to happen—you make them happen.

• You’re fluent in English. German is a plus but not required.
