Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a V.I.E Aerospace certification Engineer to join our Bayern region team. You will certify airborne software and hardware for civil helicopter systems and collaborate with system managers and engineers on certification plans.

Successful candidates are EU graduates aged 18–28 with aerospace or computer engineering backgrounds and DO-178C/DO-254 familiarity. The role offers full-time VIE with potential for global opportunities within ALTEN.

Qualifications

• EU citizen, aged 18–28, for VIE program
• Degree in aerospace or computer engineering or comparable field
• Experience in certification engineering or avionic development
• Familiarity with DO-178C and DO-254 standards

Responsibilities

• Certify airborne software and hardware for civil helicopter systems
• Analyze software/hardware development and verification plans
• Prepare approval documentation: compliance evidence, certification plans, verification reports
• Define certification strategy aligned with DO-178C/DO-254
• Collaborate with system managers, engineers, experts, and project managers
• Follow up and review compliance data to ensure timely certification activities

Are you a graduate with EU citizenship aged 18 to 28 and want to gain work experience in Germany?

• are responsible for the certification of airborne software and electronic hardware used in civil helicopter systems
• perform technical analysis of software/hardware development and verification plans
• prepare the necessary approval documentation (compliance evidence, certification plans, verification reports)
• contribute to the definition of the certification strategy in line with DO-178C / DO-254 processes
• collaborate with system managers, software/hardware engineers, technical experts, and project managers
• follow up, review compliance data, and ensure that certification activities are completed on time

YOU...

• fulfill the general V.I.E program requirements (EU-graduate, aged between 18 and 28 years)
• have completed an aerospace engineering, computer engineering, or comparable degree
• have experience in certification engineering, compliance, or avionic development in the aerospace industry
• are familiar with DO-178C (software) and DO-254 (hardware) standards, and their role in aviation certification
• are an open and communicative person
• speak fluent English; additional languages are a plus
