Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a VIE Network Planner Fiber Optic Expansion in Germany to plan and document copper and fiber optic networks, contribute to route conceptual design, and oversee equipment distribution and measurement. You will document the entire planning process and communicate with site managers, while meeting the VIE program requirements.

Ideal candidates have studies in communications engineering or related fields, practical experience in network documentation and planning, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Completed studies in communications engineering, civil engineering, geodesy, geoinformatics, geography or comparable qualification such as state-certified technician.

Responsibilities

• Plan and document copper and fiber optic networks taking into account installed technology.
• Contribute to the conceptual design of routes and their control for completeness and correctness.
• Be responsible for equipping cable distributors as well as their measurement and adjustment.
• Provide documentation of the entire planning process.
• Communicate with responsible site managers.

Are you a graduate with EU citizenship aged 18 to 28 and want to gain work experience in Germany?

• are responible for the planning and documentation of copper and fiber optic networks taking into account the installed technology
• participate to the conceptual design of routes and their control for completeness and correctness
• have the responsibility for equipping cable distributors as well as their measurement and adjustment
• provide the documentation of the entire planning process

YOU...

• meet the general requirements of the V.I.E. programme (EU citizen, between 18 and 28 years old)
• completed studies in communications engineering, civil engineering, geodesy, geoinformatics, geography or comparable qualification such as state-certified technician (m/f/d)
• have practical experience in the field of network documentation and planning or in the field of pipeline networks such as electricity, water, gas
• are experienced handling of Megaplan or QGIS, Arc-GIS, CableScout, AutoCAD, Connectmaster or similar
• have a good written and spoken German
