Job summary

POLARIS Raumflugzeuge GmbH seeks a Test Engineer for a rocket engine test stand focusing on DAQS and control. You will design, implement, and maintain the data acquisition system, select sensors, and program data logging and control software.

You will develop test procedures and safety interlocks, support live tests, ensure telemetry reliability, and analyze results for engine performance and health. The role requires German and English proficiency and a startup mindset.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Aerospace Engineering (M.Sc./M.Eng.) or similar
• Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience
• Experience with NI Hardware is an advantage
• Hands-on knowledge of LabVIEW, Python, or embedded control systems
• Familiarity with rocket engines, test stands, or cryogenic fluid systems
• Background in test automation or real-time systems
• Work experience in a start-up environment is an advantage
• Safety-conscious mindset and the ability to work under pressure during live tests
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team
• Proficiency in both German and English

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining the Data Acquisition System (DAQS) for a rocket engine test stands
• Selecting and integrating sensors (pressure, temperature, flow, etc.)
• Programming control and data logging software (LabVIEW, Python, PLCs, etc.)
• Developing test procedures, checklists, and safety interlocks
• Supporting test operations: system arming, countdown, engine ignition, and shutdown
• Ensuring safe operations, telemetry reliability, and real-time visualization
• Analysing test data and preparing reports for engine performance and health

Your mission
