POLARIS Spaceplanes in Bremen is seeking a Test Engineer for Rocket Engine Test Stand - DAQS & Control to design, implement, and maintain the data acquisition system for high‑fidelity rocket engine tests. The role requires hands-on LabVIEW/Python expertise and experience with real‑time control systems in a startup environment.

You will work with an international team, select sensors, code data logging software, and develop robust test procedures and safety interlocks to enable reliable engine

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Aerospace Engineering (M.Sc./M.Eng.) or similar.
• Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of LabVIEW, Python, or embedded control systems.
• Familiarity with rocket engines, test stands, or cryogenic fluid systems.
• Background in test automation or real-time systems.

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining the Data Acquisition System (DAQS) for rocket engine test stands.
• Selecting and integrating sensors (pressure, temperature, flow, etc.).
• Programming control and data logging software (LabVIEW, Python, PLCs, etc.).
• Developing test procedures, checklists, and safety interlocks.
• Supporting test operations: system arming, countdown, engine ignition, and shutdown.
• Ensuring safe operations, telemetry reliability, and real-time visualization.
• Analysing test data and preparing reports for engine performance and health.

Your mission

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining the Data Acquisition System (DAQS) for a rocket engine test stands

• Work experience in a start-up environment is an advantage
• Safety-conscious mindset and the ability to work under pressure during live tests
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team
• Proficiency in both German and English
• Work experience in a start-up environment
