Technical Assistant (m / f / div)

The Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics in Freiburg is looking to fill a part-time (50%) position as Technical Assistant in Dr. Benoit Kanzler's Transgenic Mouse Unit ().

The position is available as soon as possible and is limited to two years.

YOUR TASKS : General lab support

Independent implementation of projects and documentation after intensive training

Genome editing experiments using CRISPR

In compliance with animal welfare regulations :

Mouse preimplantation embryo production and manipulation

Introduction of genome engineering reagents to mouse embryos by microinjection and electroporation

Microinjection (or aggregation) of mouse embryonic stem cells into mouse embryos

Transplantation of mouse embryos to oviducts and uteri

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS :

BTA, CTA, MTA or comparable qualification

A background in biology or biomedical field with a minimum of three years of experience is required

Expertise in mouse engineering and embryonic stem cell manipulation would be a major asset

Flexibility and willingness to learn new technologies

Fluency in both German and English languages
