Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Developer (m / f / d) you will play a key role in the conceptualization development and optimization of our complex software systems.

• Lead Development: Leading and executing demanding software development projects from requirements analysis to go‑live while adhering to the highest quality standards.
• Technical Leadership: Assuming technical leadership in projects coordinating development teams and ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
• Quality Assurance: Conducting code reviews ensuring test coverage and continuously improving our development processes and tools.
• Problem and Requirements Analysis: Analyzing complex technical problems and customer requirements, developing and implementing software changes for WCS (warehouse management system), MFC (material flow controller) and OFS (Order Fulfillment System) systems.
• Mentoring and Coaching: Actively supporting and providing technical guidance to junior developers within the team.
• Strategic Consulting: Providing technical advice and working closely with customers, project teams and customer support.
• Process Optimization: Analyzing and optimizing support and development processes in an international environment particularly regarding 24 / 7 operational requirements.

Your Profile

• Professional Experience: At least 7-10 years of profound professional experience in software development ideally within the logistics automation or WCS MFC environment.
• Problem‑Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities and a structured solution‑oriented approach to complex problems.
• Service Orientation: High degree of service and customer orientation.
• Technical Expertise: Excellent knowledge and several years of experience in Java software development. 8 Hibernate, Log4J, EJB, etc.
• Proficient in handling complex databases especially Oracle (SQL PL / SQL).
• Experience with modern architectural concepts (e.g., MFC Design patterns).
• Knowledge of CI / CD pipelines and DevOps practices (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Jira, Ant, Git, SVN).
• Communication: Fluent in written and spoken German and English. Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Leadership Qualities: Proven experience in technical leadership of development teams or team‑lead roles.
• Willingness to Travel: Occasional willingness to travel for customer engagement and visiting current warehouse installations.
• Logistics IT: In-depth understanding of the logistics IT landscape and experience with automation environments / Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is a plus.
