Job summary

CYBEX, Bayreuth, is seeking a Patent Engineer with experience in FTO analyses to join our cross-functional team. You will work with Engineering, Design, Legal, and Product teams to assess IP risks and align strategies with development goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum several years of professional experience as a patent engineer or in a comparable role with FTO analyses.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Fluency in English, written and spoken.
• Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with patent search tools (Questel Orbit, Espacenet, DEPATISnet) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct prior art searches, freedom-to-operate analyses, and competitor IP assessments.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Design, Legal, and Product Management to integrate IP into development processes.
• Work with inventors and R&D to identify risks early in development.
• Analyze technical solutions to identify patentable ideas in product development.
• Assist in formulating and implementing IP strategies aligned with business goals.
• Streamline internal IP processes and workflows.
