HEADBORNE seeks an Senior Electrical Engineer, to work with our Principal Electrical Engineer designing and validating electronics for AI-enabled AR headsets serving first responders and defense forces. You’ll drive advanced sensing, communication, SOC/MCU integration, and embedded power, crafting miniaturized PCBs for top performance and reliability. This hands‑on role spans concept to mass production: electrical design, integration, lab prototyping, field testing, and vendor collaboration. We seek a brilliant, motivated engineer to join TEAM HEADBORNE, delivering mission‑based, safe AI solutions.
Develop end-to-end PCBs for HEADBORNE’s AI‑enabled AR headsets, supporting first responders and defense forces.
Define requirements, and work cross‑functionally with the other team members.
Manage system start‑up, testing, troubleshooting, and integration, ensuring requirements are met, including EMI/EMC and defense standards.
Conduct root cause analysis for field operations.
Support manufacturing through design, DfM, DfX, quality, and failure analysis.
A Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
10–20 years of experience in designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex board designs
Experience with Cadence OrCAD (preferred), Altium, PADS, or KiCad
Experienced with FPGA devices and technologies
Proficiency in both German and English
Eligibility for German security clearances
Familiarity with automotive or aeronautical engineering from past experience
This in‑person role is based in Jena, Germany. Candidates are expected to be located near Jena or open to relocation.
