Looking to make an impact at a growing company guided by strong business values? Regal Rexnord seeks an experienced and practical European labor attorney to join our legal team! Reporting to the VP, Regional General Counsel – EMEA and functionally to the VP, Global Employment and Labor Counsel, the European Employment and Labor Counsel will be responsible for providing pragmatic, business-minded and proactive legal support on all employment and labor law issues across Regal Rexnord’s European sites.

This role is Europe-focused with opportunity for global exposure and experience.

Key Responsibilities
Labor and Employment
  • Provide counsel to the Company's global Human Resources Business Partners and other internal business clients on a broad range of European labor and employment law issues spanning the entire employee life cycle; from recruiting to terminations and discipline, performance management, reductions in force, leaves of absence and reasonable accommodations, employment contracts/agreements, works councils, collective agreements, wage and hour considerations, business transformations and restructurings.
  • Provide oversight into the investigation of employment-related and labor disputes and claims.
  • Review and draft various employment-related documents, including contracts/agreements, settlement agreements, separation and non-competition agreements, demand letters, and responses to the same.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to our local European Human Resources Business Partners along with global HR leaders with responsibilities in Europe on EU-wide and local country laws. Ensure European businesses are in compliance with these laws.
  • Provide legal partnership on the EU Pay Transparency directive regarding the framework, analysis and counsel needed to achieve and maintain compliance.
General
  • Provide solution-oriented legal advice and support to all segments and divisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and provide timely legal input.
  • Identify and assess legal risks associated with business activities and propose risk mitigation strategies.
  • Work proactively to prevent legal issues and disputes.
Professional Experience/Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • 5+ years’ experience, ideally in both a law firm and a corporation
  • Working experience with European labor and commercial laws and regulatory framework (with a strong preference for experience in the RRX countries).
  • Solid knowledge of German (an ideally other European countries’) collective and individual labor law regulations
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, and risk assessment
  • Strong coaching, communication and presentation skills; and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships
  • A highly approachable, collegial, and collaborative approach
  • Accountable and proactive self-starter, comfortable working independently
  • Superb organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once
  • Pragmatic mindset with the ability and willingness to explore solutions across various European legal systems
  • Law degree from a reputable German university and admission to practice law in Germany
  • Language skills: fluent in English and German and ideally one additional European language
