The Green Recruitment Company seeks a Senior BESS Specialist to lead technical due diligence for large-scale battery energy storage projects in Germany and across Europe. You will assess designs, risks and documentation, delivering independent technical advice to investors, developers and lenders.

Fluency in German (C1) and English (B2) is required as you collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and help build the German business within a renowned consultancy.

Formación

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Strong experience in renewable energy, especially large-scale BESS.
• Knowledge of battery storage systems, electrical design, and utility-scale assets.
• Experience in technical due diligence or engineering consultancy.
• Fluent German (C1) and good English (B2).

We are working with an established international renewable energy consultancy looking to further grow its presence in Germany. The business already has a strong reputation and an established brand in the market, and Germany is a key target market for its expansion plans over the coming years.

They are now looking to bring in a Senior BESS Specialist to support their growing workload, with a particular focus on the technical due diligence of large‑scale battery energy storage projects and other renewable energy assets.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong electrical engineering background and hands‑on BESS experience who wants to work on a variety of projects, take ownership of technical assessments and play an important role in building out the German team.

The Role

You’ll work on technical due diligence assignments for investors, developers, lenders and other stakeholders involved in the German renewable energy market.

The main focus will be large‑scale BESS projects, although you’ll also have the opportunity to work across other renewable energy technologies. You’ll be responsible for assessing the technical aspects of projects, identifying risks, reviewing designs and providing independent technical advice to clients.

The role would suit someone who understands the technical side of BESS projects and is comfortable assessing projects from an independent, consultancy perspective.

Your Background

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.


• Strong experience within the renewable energy sector, with a particular focus on large‑scale BESS projects.


• Good understanding of battery storage systems, electrical design and the technical considerations involved in developing and operating utility‑scale BESS assets.


• Experience with technical due diligence, technical advisory or engineering consultancy would be a significant advantage.


• Alternatively, an engineering background within a BESS developer, IPP or EPC, with exposure to technical assessments and project design.


• Comfortable reviewing technical documentation, identifying risks and communicating technical findings to clients.


• Fluent German (minimum C1) and good English (minimum B2).
